Happy New Year!

Hello and Happy New Year from me and my creations!  ZenKin® have had some adventures to share!

I will tell you a bit about my ZenKin® and their recent journeys.  I attended Seminar 32 and also Zen Again in Providence, Rhode Island.  Both events are hosted by Zentangle®.  Both were wonderful events.  There were new and exciting things to learn and so very many wonderful Tanglers to get to know.  Reconnecting with Rick, Maria, Molly, Martha and all the wonderful Zentangle staff was like “coming home again.”  They are truly wonderful people with a passion for what they do and they have hearts of gold.  I am fond of all of them.

At both of the events I attended I had gifts of items with ZenKin® images to give away to all of the attendees and staff.  I made over 350 different gifts. There were necklaces, earrings, pins, money clips, bracelets, and other items for me to share.  I was honored by how much everyone showed appreciation for my ZenKin®. They seemed delighted to receive an unexpected gift. Each ZenKin® item that I made to give away took time to prepare but I enjoyed every minute of that time and the gratitude and smiles brought me so much joy!  I am passionate about my ZenKin® and am so grateful for the connection I feel with those that appreciate them. The most fun I had was standing at the end of the table where I had placed them, with a sign indicating that they could have one for free, and watching and listening to the attendees talk about them.  It seemed everyone had fun in finding their favorite character to take home with them. And home was all over the world.  I am honored to have my  ZenKin® in several countries!  I have been told that many have accompanied CZTs while teaching classes and some have since been re-gifted to loved ones.  It is nice to hear stories about their adventures.  It is hard to put into words what it means to have them bring joy to others.

Zentangle has brought so much into my life and I enjoy every moment spent drawing with the method. By far the biggest joy is the friendships I have made through my Zentangle connections. While at Seminar and ZenAgain, I met and became friends with Tanglers from Germany, Sweden, France, India, New Zealand, England, China, Taiwan, Belgium, several other countries and many different states in America.  There are so many wonderful people in this world and it is Zentangle that has given me the opportunity to get to know and love people from across the globe.  I am grateful for that!

I expect 2019 will bring opportunities for me to further connect with my new friends through Social Media and in person at events arranged by CZTs and Zentangle events with classes taught by Rick, Maria, Molly and Martha.  To those of you that were at these two events that I attended, I will say it was a pleasure to share time with you.  To those I have yet to meet one day, I look forward to it.  And to all of you that took the time to read this, my second blog post, Thank you!

There are so many things that I am grateful for this brand new year.  I have people in my heart and so much enthusiasm for life!  I have these wonderful ZenKin® that I create and I am looking forward to 2019 being a year where many new ZenKin® are “born” and loved.  I hope that you find much happiness in your world in 2019.  I hope you live with passion and make it a great year.   Until next time, Katrina
